widescreen video production

On most occasions we employ two Sony broadcast quality cameras; our videos are specifically designed for widescreen (16:9) but they are also suitable for standard (4:3) televisions.
Our experience of event video production and photography covers a wide range of subjects and locations.

high definition (HD)

We shoot entirely in HD which, for now, is converted to standard definition (SD) for the creation of a DVD, but this means that when prices of HD recorders are more acceptable and widespread, that a production edited in HD may be transferred to disk.

online editing

We use G5 and Intel Core Duo Apple Macs with Final Cut Pro HD software to edit the footage from two or more cameras, together with separately recorded audio tracks. We consider professional editing to be a very important part of the final production, which also includes features such as titles and credits using Live Type software.

DVD authoring
The raw video footage is edited to a high professional standard using DVD Studio Pro and the finished package consists of:
• high quality Verbatim disks with custom design printed in colour
• library cases with a custom designed insert printed in full colour
• for the educational package we include a four page (single fold) programme printed in black and white placed inside the case.
We are also able to supply large volumes of disks through our disk copying facility.

audio

In order to obtain high quality sound we record audio tracks separately from the video cameras. For example, in the studio we record directly to hard disk or on location we use professional quality digital recorders which produce uncompressed high quality audio in WAV file format. We employ a number of condenser and dynamic microphones including two high quality AKG microphones for stereo sound.
"The AKG C 1000 S Condenser Mic is an excellent vocal mic. It works well even from a distance, making it ideal for recording choirs and other live music ensembles." the Musician's Friend

COLOUR AND MOVEMENT

A one hour video made for Highfield Special School in 2004, which documented the Colour and Movement Project. One part of the project was involved with music and movement while the second part was constructed around music and colour. Several short especially made Videos were used as a means of introducing the visual part of the programme, and then a video was made which showed the progress of the students. The video presented the students at work with a sound track consisting totally of their own comments and ideas.
